The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers is awarded annually to undergraduate and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) students at 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 University.  Undergraduate rising juniors and seniors can earn up to $8,000 while MAT students can earn up to $10,000 for the one-year program.

Through the Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers, 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 University aims to enroll the best and brightest leaders who are passionate about teaching and learning.

澳门金沙线上赌博官网 University and the Department of Education are proud and honored to participate in the Charles Butt Scholars program for future teachers. In addition to a scholarship, the program provides mentorship, professional development, networking, career support, program support, and connections with scholars across the state of Texas.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in or applying to the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 University as a rising undergraduate junior or senior or entering MAT graduate student
  • Demonstrate a strong academic record and leadership 技能
  • Commit to teaching in the Texas public school system in either a Title I school OR in a shortage subject area (math, 科学, bilingual education, or special education
  • 做一个U.S. 公民
  • Preferred:  Texas resident of at least three years

*We encourage applicants to look into the knowledge, 技能, and values that are important to the Charles Butt Scholars program and its scholars. We will help the program make its scholar decisions by reviewing applications and providing student recommendations.
